Product description:

Xylorin is an over-the-counter drug used to treat rhinitis. It opens the respiratory tract by reducing swelling and congestion of the mucous membrane. Suitable for use during infections of the nose and paranasal sinuses.

Ingredients:

Active substance Xylorin : xylometazoline hydrochloride. 1 ml of aerosol contains 550 µg of xylometazoline hydrochloride. Excipients: anhydrous sodium acetate, acetic acid, sodium chloride, benzalkonium chloride, purified water. 100 g of aerosol contains 10 g of benzalkonium chloride.

Dosage:

Adults and children over 6 years of age

1 to 2 doses per day every 8-10 hours.

Contraindications:

  • Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the ingredients of the drug
  • The drug is not suitable for atrophic rhinitis and narrow-angle glaucoma.
  • Do not use in pregnant women
  • Do not use on children under 6 years of age

Side effects:

Xylorin, like any medicine, may cause side effects. Please remember that not everyone will experience them.

Rare side effects:

  • irritation of the nasal mucosa
  • burning sensation in the nose
  • dryness of the nasal mucosa
  • sneezing
  • headache
  • vision and sleep disorders
  • generalized allergic reaction

Precautions:

  • Drug for short-term use; long-term use of the product may lead to the so-called drug-induced rhinitis
  • The medicine contains benzalkonium chloride, which may cause skin reactions.
  • Avoid contact with eyes
  • Store at temperatures below 25 degrees Celsius
  • Protect from light and moisture
  • Keep out of the reach of children

Interactions with other drugs:

Xylorin may react with drugs and substances such as:

  • antidepressants
  • ephedrine
  • pseudoephedrine
  • MAO inhibitors
