Description

Peroxygel 3.0 is a medicine that contains hydrogen peroxide in the form of a gel. Peroxygel 3.0, unlike a traditional solution, stays better on damaged skin because the gel form prevents the drug from flowing from the site of application, thanks to the delicate film formed on the surface that protects the damaged skin. The gel can be used to disinfect wounds, abrasions and scratches on the skin.

Composition

The active substance of the drug is hydrogen peroxide ( Hydrogenii peroxidum ).

1 g of gel contains 30 mg of hydrogen peroxide.

Excipients : disodium edetate, poloxamer 407, ethanol 96%, concentrated phosphoric acid, purified water.

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

The medicine is applied to the skin. After application to the skin (at a temperature of approximately 36.6°C), the medicine takes the form of a gel.

Apply 0.5 – 1 cm of gel directly to the wound, abrasion or scratch. After drying, a delicate film will form to protect damaged skin.

If you have the impression that the effect of the medicine is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor.

Action

Peroxygel 3.0 contains hydrogen peroxide at a concentration of 3% as an active substance. Hydrogen peroxide, under the influence of enzymes found in tissues and many bacteria, decomposes into water and active atomic oxygen. This reaction occurs quickly in the presence of blood, pus and necrotic tissue. The released oxygen creates foam and removes microorganisms from the disinfected area, destroys blood cells flowing from the wound, and mechanically cleanses cells exposed as a result of skin damage from the remains of damaged tissue. Oxygen also has a dehydrating, whitening and bactericidal effect. The tests carried out confirmed that the gel has a bactericidal effect within 1 minute against Gram-positive bacteria (e.g. Staphylococcus aureus) and Gram-negative bacteria (e.g. Pseudomonas aeruginosa). Peroxygel 3.0 also has a fungicidal effect on pathogenic yeasts, especially Candida albicans and other fungi, e.g. black aspergillosis.

Indications

Peroxygel 3.0 is indicated for disinfecting wounds, abrasions and scratches of the skin.
