Product description:

Kreon Travix is a medicinal product containing a mixture of digestive enzymes indicated for digestive disorders.

Composition:

Active substances: pancreatin (Pancreatinum) with activity:

10000 u. Ph.Eur. lipase, 8000 u. Ph.Eur. amylase, 600 IU Ph.Eur. protease.

Excipients - macrogol 4000, hypromellose phthalate, dimethicone 1000, cetyl alcohol, triethyl citrate.

Composition of 1 gelatin capsule: gelatin, iron (III) oxide anhydrous (E 172), iron (III) oxide hydrated (E 172), iron (II, III) oxide (E172), titanium dioxide (E 171), sodium lauryl sulphate.

Indications:

Treatment of digestive disorders in the course of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency in children, adolescents and adults, the occurrence of which is associated with the following or other disease entities:

Cystic fibrosis (cystic fibrosis)

Chronic pancreatitis

Condition after removal of the pancreas (pancreatectomy)

Condition after removal of the stomach (gastrectomy)

Pancreatic cancer

Condition after gastrointestinal anastomosis (e.g. Billroth II type gastroenterostomy)

Stenosis of the pancreatic duct or common bile duct (e.g. due to cancer)

Shwachman-Diamond syndrome

Condition after an attack of acute pancreatitis and the start of intestinal or oral feeding.

Action:

Kreon Travix has a lipolytic, amylolytic, proteolytic effect - it allows the digestion of fats, starches and proteins. The drug contains a mixture of digestive enzymes - it helps to digest food.

The use of the drug reduces the symptoms associated with impaired secretion of digestive enzymes by the pancreas (abdominal pain, flatulence, frequency of bowel movements).

Dosage:

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Adults: 2 to 8 capsules for each main meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner). For snacks: 1-4 capsules (half of the dose taken for main meals).

The drug for oral use.

The dose of the drug depends on the type of disease, the patient's body weight, the diet used.

The capsules should not be opened, chewed, thrown.

During use, you should drink significant amounts of fluids throughout the day.

Use the drug after main meals or during.

Contraindications:

Do not use the drug in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation.

Do not use Kreon Travix:

If you are allergic to pork pancreatin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Side effects:

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Very common side effects (in 1 or more in 10 people):

Abdominal pain.

Common side effects (for 1 to 10 users in 100):

Nausea, vomiting,

Constipation, diarrhoea,

Flatulence.

Uncommon side effects (in 1 to 10 users in 1000):

Rash.

Frequency not known:

Urticaria, itching,

Hypersensitivity reactions.

Warnings and precautions:

Caution should be exercised if given to children with cystic fibrosis taking high doses of enzymes, as intestinal narrowing has been reported in these children in rare cases.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding:

In the case of pregnant or breastfeeding women, consult a doctor before using the medicine.

Use of the medicine with food and drink

The medicine should be taken during or immediately after a meal

Interactions:

Tell your doctor if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.

Storage:

Keep the medicine out of sight and reach of children.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton. The expiration date is the last day of the given month.

Medicines should not be thrown into sewers or household waste containers. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines that you no longer use. This will help protect the environment.

Do not store above 25°C

Keep the bottles tightly closed.

Shelf life after first opening the bottle: 6 months
